Membership and Dues
Membership is open
to all companies and individuals who have an
interest in mobile computing and/or mobile
(wireless) communications. Members include
companies and individuals from various aspects
of wireless and mobile computing: information
suppliers, communications equipment vendors,
communications service providers, software and
hardware vendors and equipment manufacturers,
resellers, corporate implementers, and

There are four
levels of membership in the WTA. Each provides
for a different level of involvement in the
organization.
Executive Members
have all rights of the organization including
full voting rights of an organizational and
by-laws nature, full voting rights on
standards issues, and majority representation
on the Board of Directors with 10 of the 15
seats. Members serving on committees do not
have to be Executive Members, however,
committee chairmen will be required to hold
Executive Membership in the organization.
Executive Membership provides for two
representatives from each company, but only
one vote per membership. Executive members can
send up to five people to a meeting without
incurring meeting charges. Annual dues for
Executive Membership are $5,000. To provide
the WTA organization the support it needs to
move forward, the WTA encourages larger
companies (e.g., annual sales of $1B or more)
to join, or renew their memberships, at an
executive level.
Associate Members
will have full voting rights on standards
issues and will be represented on the Board of
Directors with a minority of the seats (5).
Associate Membership includes two
representatives from each company, but only
one vote per membership. Associate
members can send up to two people to a
meeting without incurring meeting charges. Annual
dues for Associate Members are $2,500.
Affiliate Members
will receive timely information from the WTA
and are invited to observe all WTA functions,
take part in discussions, and will receive
informational mailings. Affiliate members may
serve on committees and have a vote within the
committee. The affiliate membership is
intended for companies that do not have the
financial resources (e.g. startups) to join at
an executive or associate level. Affiliate members can send one person
to a meeting without incurring meeting
charges. Annual dues for
Affiliate Members are $750.
Individual
Memberships are available to individuals
interested in the organization who wish to
receive information regarding activities of
the WTA, including the newsletter and other
informational mailings. Individual Members may
attend all WTA meetings and take part in the
discussions and can serve on a committee, but
have no voting rights. This tier is intended
for consultants, analysts and press, not
individuals of corporations. Annual dues for
Individual Members are $100.
